Si a alguien se le pregunta qué tipo de música hay en Venezuela sin duda no dirá rock como primer idea, menos Hard Rock, aún menos mujer, y menos que menos nominada a los Grammy, y ya para terminar que a todo ese se le sume ser pedida por los mismísimos LA Guns (banda de donde nació Guns & Roses) que los teloneara por Estados Unidos. Con ustedes Laura Bustillos
-¿Cómo estás Laura, gracias por tu tiempo y contamos como empezó esto del rock?
-Primer gracias por esta increíble entrevista me encanta la revista! Estudie piano, teoría, solfeo y guitarras. Lo demás a puro pulmón y trabajo así me convertí en productora y tengo mi propio sello disquero
-Sé que tu futuro más próximo es compartir escenario con LA GUNS ¿es así?
-Me llamaron para la gran reunión de LA Guns por primera vez los cual es increíble!!!
-Es muy complicado ser mujer y estar en este negocio. Sin duda la civilización a avanzado pero sigue siendo un negocio de hombres
-Es complicado pero soy una mejor positiva, emprendedora y trabajo duro hasta terminar de producir los álbumes y tocar los shows con calidad y con todo mi corazón. Quiero darle a mi fans y amigos luz y energía a través de la música! También quiero darles fuerza a través del ROCK!
-¿Qué nos podés contar de tus comienzos con la Velvet?
-Fue difícil y yo lo hacía todo, producción del álbum, busca los shows, hacia las camisas a mano. Así conseguí abrir mi propio sello disquero
-Y ¿qué te impulso a tomar la decisión de ir por tu cuenta?
-Quería ser solista para darle toda mi música y amor a mi público sin límites.
-Luego de mucho trabajo te nominan a los Grammy. ¿qué se siente cuando te dan la noticia y qué aporta más allá de lo curricular a tu carrera? ¿es alcanzar una meta más? ¿te lo habías propuesto?
-Lloré porque nunca pensé que un álbum que yo produje quedara categorizado como mejor álbum y yo como mejor artista nueva! Más todas las demás categorías. Ya veremos quienes quedan seleccionados pero es una gran bendición nada más ser parte de un reconocimiento tan hermoso por medio de la Academia
-En relación a que sos la Ceo en Imachine, entiendo que tener tu propia discográfica hace todo más simple y a la vez es una carga más de trabajo, pero esta decisión ¿la tomas considerando que la escena musical esta complicada con el tema de las descargas y demás, o ya asumes que esto último es parte del negocio y quien mejor que vos para llevar la carrera de Laura Bustillos?
-Claro, nada como hacerlo todo y llamar a los contactos y amigos cuando necesito ayuda y ayudarlos de vuelta. Soy una mujer fuerte y luchadora no me importa trabajar 30 horas en el estudio si voy a darle fuerza con una canción así sea a una persona o a millones
-Hablando de música…¿cuáles son tus proyectos actuales y a futuro? sé que hay nuevo disco en breve ¿nos podés contar algo?
-Viene el segundo disco también producido por mi sello disquero Imachine Records, todos mis álbumes tienes un tema fuerte de Rock, uno en español y los demás mezclados. Me gusta experimentar con varios estilos y agregarles unos riff de guitarras con mi Jackson Guitar y Eddie Van Halen Amp
-Cambiando de tema. ¿Cuáles son tus influencias en lo musical y en lo que refiere a tu instrumento la guitarra?
-Tantas influencias, desde Deep Purple, Janis Joplin, Megadeth, Van Halen y me gustan muchos otro géneros musicales, me gusta innovar, dar energía y fuerza
-En relación a tu banda, entiendo que hay músicos con mucha trayectoria ¿qué nos podes contar?
-Estoy tocando con un el guitarrista de Dio, Rowan Robertson, que bendición tener a tanta gente que admiro apoyándome como rockera mujer.
-Hablando de guitarra…¿por qué el rock?
-Es mi estilo favorito porque hace sentir fuerte, como mujer no dejo que nada me haga caer. El rock te hace sentir invencible
-Y la última. ¿Planes de salir fuera del circuito americano para presentar tu música?
-Claro, siempre saco canciones en español. Compren mis tres álbumes en ITunes, apoyen a las rockeras! Con mi banda LA Velvet los nombres de los albumes son: Pure, Sexy, Loud Rock n’ Roll (el álbum negro) y el segundo se llama The One I Love (el álbum blanco) Mi álbum de solista que va a los Grammy se llama Series of Miracles, cada canción te levantara a otro nivel.

Did you study music formaly or was it all gut instinct? Would you tell me what material you have published with velvet and as a soloist?
Hello my LV’s, First, thanks for this incredible interview, I like the magazine. I studied Piano, theory, Sol-fa and guitars. The rest was guts and work to become a Producer and have my own Record Label.
Kknowing that your schedule is very busy and that you are going to share the stage with LA Guns, is that so?
I was called for the Big Reunion of LA Guns for the first time.
Is it still complicated to be in this Industry?
No doubt there’s been a great advance in civilization, but, is it still a men’s industry?
It’s complicated but I am a positive thinking woman, I am an entrepreneur and work hard until the end of the production of the albums and then I play my shows with the best quality and with all my heart. I want to give my fans and friends enlightment and energy thru the music. I also want to give them strength thru ROCK.
What can you tell us about your beginning with LA Velvet?
It was difficult and I did it all, production of the album, look for shows, I made the T shirts by hand. That’s how I was able to start my own Record Label.
What gave you the impulse to make the decision to go on your own?
I wanted to be a soloist in order to give my music and love to my fans without limit.
After lots of work, you are nominated to the grammys, what did it feel like when you received the notice and what does it provide beyond your curriculum and career? Had it been a goal?
I cried because I never taught that an album I produced would be categorized as Best Album, and I as Best New Artist, plus the rest of the categories. We will see who are selected but still I feel blessed just by being part of this recognition, so beautiful by the Academy.
Regarding your being the CEO of Imachine, I understand that having your own Record Label makes it all more simple and at the same time It is more work load, but this decision is made considering that the industry got complicated because of the downloads and other things or do you believe that it is just part of the business and that you are the best choice to manage the career of Laura Bustillos?
Well, there’s nothing like doing it all and call my contacts and friends when I need help and viceversa. I am very strong and a fighter and I don’t care if I have to work 30 hours in the studio to provide strength with a song to one person or millions.
Talking about music, which are your present projects and in the future? I know there is a new album coming up soon, can you tell us about that?
There is the second album in the works, also produced by my by my label Imachine Records, all my albums have very ROCK strength, one in Spanish and the rest are a mix. I like to experiment with different styles and add riffs with my Jackson Guitar and Eddie Van Halen Amp.
Changing the subject, what has influenced you more musically, regarding your instrument, the guitar?
So many influences, from Deep Purple, Janis Joplin, Megadeth, Van Halen and I also like other music. I like to innovate, give energy and strength.
Regarding your Band, I understand that there are musicians with long careers, what can you tell us?
I am playing with the guitarist of Dio, Rowan Robertson, I feel blessed having so many people that I admire helping me as a Woman Rocker.
Talking about guitar, Why Rock?
It’s my favorite style because it gives me strength as a woman, I don’t allow anything that could make me fall thru the cracks. Rock makes you feel unbeatable.
Last one, any plans to expand your musical performances outside the North American Circuit?
Sure, I always publish songs in Spanish. Buy my three records in ITunes, encourage women Rockers. With my band LA Velvet the names of the records are: Pure, Sexy, Loud Rock n’ Roll (the black album) and the second one is called The One I love (the white album). Mo solo album that goes to the Grammys is called Series of Miracles, each song will take you to another level.
